SUSPECT IN CUSTODY
The Sheriff’s Department Special Enforcement Bureau (SEB) responded to Barrison Street in the area of 30th Street East and Avenue R8 in Palmdale for a barricaded suspect in connection to the murder of Deputy Ryan Clinkunbroomer.
The suspect was barricaded in a residence and was detained after a short stand off. Pepper balls and a robot were deployed in an effort to coax him out of the residence. The stand off ended at approximately 5:30am today. (Photo of suspect at end of video)
Sheriff Robert Luna is expected to hold a press conference regarding the matter at 10:30 this morning.
UPDATE: The suspect has been identified by Sheriff Luna as 29 year old Kevin Salazar. The Sheriff also communicated that he had spoken to District Attorney George Gasćon and was assured the suspect would be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.
