The famous Trumpet Tune in D was a section of the work The Island Princess (1699), a joint musical production of Jeremiah Clarke and Daniel Purcell (Henry Purcell's blood relative), likely leading to the confusion and misattribution.
This trumpet composition has remained popular as a wedding song, used in many wedding music ceremonies over the centuries, including that of Prince Charles and Lady Diana (Princess Diana) in 1981.
