I didn't expect this climb to be so dangerous, especially considering it's widely sold by tour companies in La Paz to people who aren't mountaineers.
Referred to by many as 'the easiest 6000m peak in the world', Huayana Potosi is anything but.
We spend a week around La Paz, Bolivia, hiking and acclimatising, to get ourselves ready for Huayana Potosi's huge attitude.
We sleep at 2 refuges along the way to the summit, Refugio Casa Blanca at 4,800m and Las Rochas at 5,150m.
The summit push was long, cold and pretty brutal, having to navigate a huge glacier for most of the way and steep rocky terrain towards the summit.
Guides were hauling their clients up by the ropes, many of which eventually turned around.
The summit was hard earned but spectacular, with views of the Andes mountains's Cordillera Real surrounding you, and even the beautiful Illimani mountain.
