Rival Somali clans fought outside Mogadishu airport's main gate on
Sunday (26/2) in a taste of what could happen when UN peacekeepers
have withdrawn from the East Africa nation. The clans are expected
to battle for control of the airport and the seaport after the UN
force finally leaves. At least one mortar bomb hit the airport runway and bullets flew over the heads of American, Italian and UN troops who are camped at the UN-controlled facility.
