Описание: The story of the song „E Vui Durmitti Ancora“ (You Are Still Asleep) began in 1910 when Gaetano Emanuel Calì, the composer from Catania (Sicily), read Giovanni Formisano's verses. Calì fell in love with his countryman's piece of poetry to the extent that he instantly decided to compose the tune. So, during that same night he set off from Malta and by the time he arrived to Catania the music sheet was completed. However, it was only in 1927 that the song was recorded for the first time. The song didn't experience significant success upon its release. It was not until many years later that the the song became popular thanks to Tecla Scarano's performance at Sangiorgi Theatre in Catania.

There's one poignant and heart-warming event related to the song.
During the First World War, in the gloomy trenches of the Carnian front, a group of Catanian soldiers started to sing "E Vui Durmiti Ancora" in a moment of ceasefire. According to the testimony of a Catanian soldier reported by the “Rivista Storica Siciliana” magazine, as soon as the performance ended, their war opponents, the Austrian soldiers, gave them a big round of applause. The fact that the Austrians couldn't understand the meaning of the words was no barrier for them holding the adorable tune in high regard.

Patrizio's adaptation of "E Vui Durmiti Ancora" was released on his album "Viva la Dolce Vita" in 2015.
