Hello neighbor, this is Curt with etrailer and today we're taking a look at the Titan Snow Chains and we're gonna see how they fit on our 2024 Ford Bronco with 285/70R17 tires. Now, snow chains are an excellent way to just, you know, keep yourself safe on the road in some of those more extreme conditions. They're great against snow, ice, even mud. Just great for giving you that traction and control to get to and from your destination safely. And these chains from Titan are what they call assisted tensioning, meaning that as you're going down the road, this little pull system here with this tensioner is gonna provide that constant tension on your chains so you won't have to do any readjustment on 'em as you're going down the road. They kind of adjust themselves as they go because with tire chains, as you go down the road on the manual tensioning, you know it's only using the power of your hands in order to keep the tension on.
So a readjustment is usually required even after rolling back and forth a bit. But those are also chains that you want to double check every few miles to make sure that everything's still in order. You shouldn't have to do that at all with these. This is gonna provide constant tension and a consistent ride down the road. These are class S chains, so they are gonna be the type of chains that are recommended in your Ford Bronco manual.
So it is a smaller link on it. These aren't gonna be necessarily made for like very, very deep snow, but light, snow, ice and mud shouldn't really provide any problems. It's a square link, meaning that it's got a hard square edge to 'em that's really gonna help you out when you're biting into that ice that might be underneath the snow and it's in what's called a diamond pattern, which means it's gonna kind of, these links are gonna kind of cross each other. We got these links going horizontally across and then we've got more of a vertical link here. But a diamond pattern is gonna mean that there is gonna be chain making road contact at all times.
Unlike a ladder style where there's gonna be spaces in between where there won't be chain contacting the ground. This also means that it's gonna provide you with a lot of good control from a side to side standpoint. They're still gonna be excellent as far as that forward and backward traction. The diamond pattern gives the added bonus of control with those side to side pitches that you might encounter on those slippery roads. Installation is really, really easy on the front here.
As you can see, we've got a lot of bright colors and I love the way the Titan does this because a lot of times you're gonna have to put these on in low light conditions. This just makes it really, really easy to see everything. So we've got this bright yellow that's gonna indicate the front, a green hookup up here in the front and where our tensioner goes through is all marked in red. The back attachment is the single cable and the attachment is located up here on the top, which means that we could actually install these from the front of the tire where I'm standing right now without having to get underneath the car to do all of our attachments and adjustments. Just makes this a lot more convenient of a set of tire chains to put on. So I've been talking a little bit about the installation. How about I go ahead and show you Stick around, I'm gonna show you exactly how we got these on our Bronco. So to begin our installation, we're first gonna take our case here and I just want to take a second to talk about this. A lot of tire chains end up giving you a case or a package that can't really be reused. Sometimes it's like a canvas sack or something like that. And I'm not a big fan of those simply because you know, they don't really keep your chains organized or keep 'em from getting tangled and they don't do a good job of letting 'em dry out either. The case that we're getting with our Titan chains, however, is a bit of a different story. One of the things I really like about it is the fact that it divides each set of chains. It's kind of tough enough to keep these from tangling in amongst itself, so to be able to keep these separate and not have 'em tangle with each other when it's time to get 'em out, is a huge bonus. So we're gonna start by throwing on our gloves. I always recommend using gloves wheneve
