Aalsmeer is known to be the biggest flower market in the world. Sales and purchases are made from a room or through an internet connection accessible from anywhere in the world. Aalsmeer is a municipality and a town in the Netherlands, in the province of North Holland. Its name is derived from the Dutch for eel (aal) and lake (meer).
