Christmas is a celebration of peace, hope, and faith. However, on Christmas Day, members of the Christian community faced attacks, intimidation, and violations of their fundamental rights in various parts of India.
As Indian citizens, the Christian community is constitutionally guaranteed the freedom of conscience and the right to freely profess, practice, and propagate religion under Article 25 of the Constitution of India. Any act of violence, coercion, or intimidation against a religious community is not only a moral failure but also a serious legal and constitutional concern.
Through this statement, DAPC INDIA and All India Human Rights strongly condemn all forms of religious persecution and call upon the authorities to ensure accountability, protection of minorities, and the rule of law. We appeal for peace, communal harmony, and strict adherence to constitutional values that uphold India’s democratic and pluralistic fabric.
This report and legal perspective are issued in the interest of justice, human dignity, and the protection of fundamental rights for all citizens, irrespective of faith.
