Caye Caulker, Belize. First Stop on a two-week road trip.

Описание: This video is the first leg of our Belize journey, where we spend three nights on Caye Caulker -a small, laid-back island known for its snorkelling (which was a highlight for us)

After arriving in Belize, we take the ferry from the mainland to Caye Caulker, explore the island by bike and on foot, swim at The Split, and get a feel for daily life on this busy little island - possibly a bit too busy for us. While beaches are limited, the reef more than makes up for it.

On our final day, we splurge on a snorkelling and sailing tour whichi is something we rarely do as budget travellers and it ends up being one of the most memorable experiences of the entire trip. From sailing over the second-largest barrier reef in the world to swimming with sharks at Shark Alley, it’s an unforgettable way to experience this UNESCO-protected area.

We also touch on reef conservation and coral bleaching, and why seeing these places — respectfully and responsibly — feels more important than ever.
