Modeling was performed using the Eulerian-Lagrangian CPFD® method in Barracuda VR™, a commercial CFD package specifically designed for reacting gas-particle flows. This demonstration case is used to illustrate the ability of Barracuda VR to model both the fluid bed hydrodynamics and the chemical kinetics in detail, providing invaluable insight into how to improve gasifier design and operation.
