Amanda was told by an insurance agent that her insurance coverage is not sufficient. She then met her Financial Planner Sam who showed her that she was overpaying yet her policies were unable to cover her medical bills. - - She also realised that her savings in bank accounts are unable to generate enough returns.
They worked together to restructure Amanda’s insurance policies. Some people may be reluctant to surrender their policies after contributing for a long time, but it has to be done in order to get optimum protection.
Amanda’s MICE (events) industry was affected by COVID-19 and she suffered a 50% pay cut, fortunately, her financial plan was done in 2018 and she has her emergency funds in place.
She has to make adjustments to her financial plan, she temporarily stopped her cash savings for retirement fund and will catch up after the pandemic.
Amanda’s advice: Cash is king. Many who are in their 30s 40s are comfortable in their current position, yet it is so important to have a financial plan. When the unexpected happens, you are able to plan your next move.
