Federal authorities have dismantled a massive narcotics trafficking network operating through cargo systems at Dallas Fort Worth International Airport.
According to investigators from the Drug Enforcement Administration and the Federal Bureau of Investigation, the operation uncovered a hidden drug corridor embedded inside international freight logistics.
The investigation — known internally as Operation Iron Corridor — exposed how traffickers allegedly used pre-cleared cargo shipments to move massive quantities of narcotics through airport infrastructure.
Federal agents discovered 340 kilograms of cocaine hidden inside medical supply crates, which led to coordinated raids across multiple cities in Texas.
Authorities seized:
• Nearly 9 tons of narcotics
• 680,000 fentanyl pills
• 1.4 tons of methamphetamine
• $12 million in cash
• Dozens of firearms and armored equipment
Investigators say the shipments were allegedly linked to partners connected to the Sinaloa Cartel.
In total, 57 primary suspects were arrested in connection with the airport infiltration case, while broader operations across Texas resulted in hundreds of additional detentions tied to related trafficking networks.
The investigation also revealed shell companies, encrypted financial records, and a complex international money-laundering system.
Federal prosecutors have filed charges including racketeering, narcotics trafficking, corruption, and conspiracy.
Authorities say the case demonstrates how criminal organizations can infiltrate trusted systems and logistics infrastructure to move narcotics across the United States.
