SNP minister, Neil Gray, yesterday admitted it may be cheaper to scrap one of the delayed ferries and start again - but vowed to push ahead with the costly vessel anyway.
Mr Gray told MSPs that work would continue to finish the second as yet unnamed Hull 802 as it would take too long to start again.
Greens MSP Ariane Burgess brands the ferry situation a failure, saying: 'Can he assure me that he will work closely with colleagues, such as the Minister for the Transport, to ensure that the way in which lifeline ferries are identified are brought forward are never again subject to this kind of failure we've seen in this instance.'
