The legendary Baal Shamin, was an ancient storm god located at the area of the red sea crossing, that is Mount Zaphon. This god is cognate with Zeus among others, and suggests that the lord of light (Zeus as a Sun god) is much darker than we could imagine.

The god Baal Shamin was the name of a god but also a title found in ancient inscriptions, especially in Canaan/Phoenicia and Syria. This name was originally a title of Baal Hadad, in the 2nd millennium BC, but came to designate a distinct god in 1000 BC.

Baalshamin was possibly part of a trinity with two other gods. Enjoy!
