The US stunned the world with its operation in Venezuela to capture leader Nicolas Maduro. Since the raid, Donald Trump has put other governments on notice, repeating threats of military action against Colombia, Cuba, Mexico, Iran and Greenland. Both US allies and foes say the intervention in Venezuela sets a dangerous precedent, and undermines the foundations international law. How far is Washington willing to operate outside the rules-based order to pursue its interests? Could Venezuela be the first test of Trump's "Donroe Doctrine" and his vision of global dominance?
