Jofra Archer to miss the T20I series vs India? England Stars Availability Confirmed For IPL 2021

The issue which first came to the fore in the Cape Town Test against South Africa in 2020 has now put his participation in the India series, scheduled to get underway on Friday, March 12 at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.

Archer missed the last Test against India due to the same elbow issue. Earlier in 2020, he was also diagnosed with a stress fracture. In the meantime, Chris Silverwood, the Three Lions’ head coach, stated that Archer won’t be undergoing surgery at the present point in time and the issue is being discussed with the England and Wales Cricket Board’s medical team.

Chris Silverwood, the England head coach, has revealed that the English players would be staying back for the final stages of the Indian Premier League (IPL) if need be. It means that a few of the Brits’ cricketers would miss out on the opening Test against New Zealand, scheduled to get underway on June 2 at the iconic Lord’s Cricket Ground in London.

On Sunday, March 7, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) confirmed the IPL schedule with the playoffs taking place on May 25, 26, and 28 and the final scheduled for May 30. Out of the 13 cricketers who would be plying their trade in the IPL, seven were picked for the Test series against India and Sri Lanka.
