A woman trapped in the collapsed building at Kottayam Medical College was rescued after two hours. Contrary to the ministers’ claim that the building was shut and used for waste dumping, protests erupted pointing out that people were trapped inside. Congress leaders including MLA Chandy Oommen and Thiruvanchoor Radhakrishnan accused the government of misleading the public and downplaying the seriousness of the incident. UDF leaders plan to visit the site.
