🌺 Soundarya Lahari (Ślokas 46–50): Description
These verses celebrate the divine beauty of the Goddess, moving gradually from her forehead and eyebrows, to her eyes and glances, and finally to the enchanting power of her side-glance, which captivates poets, gods, and the entire universe.
🌙 Śloka 46 – The Forehead and the Moon
The Goddess’s forehead shines with flawless beauty and pure radiance, so luminous that it appears to rival the crescent moon placed on her crown.
When the moon above and the glow of her forehead merge in brilliance, their combined nectar-like coolness transforms into a gentle reddish hue—like moonlight tinged with dawn—symbolizing a perfect balance of cool compassion and warm grace.
🎯 Śloka 47 – The Eyebrows as Cupid’s Bow
Her slightly curved eyebrows, which dispel the fears of the entire universe, are held in perfect harmony by her bee-dark eyes.
They resemble Cupid’s bow, subtly concealed—one end resting in his hand, the other near his wrist—ready to release arrows of love.
Through this imagery, the Goddess is shown as the source of all attraction and desire, yet fully under divine control.
☀️🌙 Śloka 48 – The Three Eyes and Time
Her right eye creates the day, shining with the nature of the Sun.
Her left eye brings forth the night, embodying the cool essence of the Moon.
Her third eye, glowing like a gently opening golden lotus, establishes twilight (sandhyā)—the sacred transition between day and night.
Thus, her vision governs time itself, maintaining cosmic rhythm and balance.
🌸 Śloka 49 – The Victorious, Graceful Gaze
Her gaze is wide, auspicious, radiant, and lotus-like, resting upon compassion as its very foundation.
It carries an indescribable sweetness and conquers countless enemies without effort.
Such is its power that her glance alone becomes worthy of many divine names—each reflecting a distinct victory of grace over hardship.
🐝 Śloka 50 – The Enchanting Side-Glance
Her ears, adorned like bees intoxicated by the nectar of poetic beauty, sway gently as her side-glance moves.
Poets, absorbed in tasting the many emotional flavors (navarasas) of her beauty, behold this sight.
At that moment, her bee-like eyes turn slightly red—as if touched by playful jealousy, seeing her ears enjoy the same divine nectar of admiration.
This reveals her beauty as alive, expressive, and delightfully human, even in its supreme divinity.
🌼 Overall Essence
Together, these verses portray the Goddess as:
The source of beauty, love, and time
The mistress of compassion and power
The living inspiration behind poetry and devotion
Her beauty is not static—it moves, glances, glows, and responds, drawing the entire cosmos into blissful awareness.📌 Like | Share | Subscribe for more Soundarya Lahari chanting #SlokasWithRadha #LearnSlokas #ChantingTutorials #HinduSlokas #SanskritSlokas #SpiritualJourney #DevotionalSlokas #MeditationWithSlokas #SlokasForBeginners #MantraChanting #IndianSpirituality #SlokaMeanings #SacredSlokas #DailyDevotionals #PeaceAndPositivity
