2 in 5 Canadians will be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime. Exercise is now accepted as important for improving side effects of cancer treatment and well-being after cancer treatment. However, there is limited access to exercise programs in the community designed for people with cancer. People with cancer report wanting programs led by exercise professionals who understand cancer and what is safe. SIRvivor BC is an exercise program for men with prostate cancer currently offered across BC. This presentation will talk about how SIRvivor BC was designed to meet the exercise needs of men who have been diagnosed with prostate cancer, in any stage of treatment or recovery.
