Negative emotions are often seen as something we need to get rid of as quickly as possible. We distract ourselves, suppress what we feel, or judge ourselves for having these emotions at all. But from a Jungian perspective, this reaction is exactly what keeps us stuck.
In this video, inspired by the work of Carl Jung, we explore a radically different way of relating to negative emotions. Jung believed that emotions such as anxiety, sadness, anger or inner heaviness are not problems to eliminate, but meaningful messages from the psyche. They appear when something inside us has been ignored, suppressed, or pushed out of awareness.
Instead of fighting negative emotions, Jung invites us to listen to them. To stay present with what we feel, without immediately trying to fix or change it. When emotions are allowed into consciousness, they no longer need to overwhelm us. They soften, clarify, and begin to transform.
