The chips are down for Maharashtra with Vedanta choosing Gujarat to set up its mega 20-billion-dollar semiconductor manufacturing plant. An MoU was signed between the company and the Gujarat government. Vedanta’s decision is a big blow for Maharashtra which was aggressively wooing the game-changing investment for several months, with the former deputy CM of the Shiv Sena-led state government taking to Twitter to express his dismay over the choice of location of the plant.
