The Sangjoy Loman Solidarity Dam stands as a true symbol of unity, compassion, and the people’s belief in building and developing their homeland. This project has moved step by step toward realizing a great dream—not through government funding or the support of official institutions, but solely through the generous hands and kind hearts of donors from inside and outside the country.
The access road construction and the official inauguration of the dam took place on September 14, 2021, and the practical construction work began in the spring of 2022.
During the first working year (2022), thanks to the support of respected donors, a total of USD 233,793, 16,951,146 Afghanis, and 491,440 Pakistani Rupees was spent on this project, raising the dam’s height from zero to 9 meters.
In the second working year (2023), with expenditures amounting to USD 143,885, 22,077,005 Afghanis, 424,500 Pakistani Rupees, and 232,351,000 Iranian Tomans, the dam’s height increased to 14.23 meters—a progress that once again proved that donors’ trust is the greatest asset of this project.
In the third working year (2024), total expenditures, converted into U.S. dollars at the daily exchange rate, reached USD 537,565.9, and the dam’s height was raised to 23 meters.
In the fourth working year (2025), an additional USD 333,543 was spent, bringing the dam’s height to 30 meters.
Accordingly, by the month of Jadi 2025, the total amount of donations and expenditures for this vital project reached USD 1,812,089.
It is important to note that all donations and expenditures have been recorded daily by the financial committee and transparently published through multiple YouTube channels, which has played a significant role in building and maintaining donors’ trust. The entire project has continuously been supervised by representatives residing in various countries.
From these contributions, essential machinery and equipment have also been purchased, including one excavator, one loader, two ten-wheel trucks, one dumper, three concrete mixers, an air machine, and a compressor, all of which now constitute permanent assets of the project.
At present, only two months remain until the start of the fifth working year—a decisive year in which the project urgently requires the procurement of cement, steel, and stone-related costs.
This dam is a gravity dam, constructed with steel reinforcement, cement, and granite stone. Upon reaching a height of 40 meters, it will be capable of storing approximately 2,400,000 cubic meters of water. This reservoir will strengthen both groundwater and surface water resources, support agricultural growth, create a large recreational area, enable fish farming, and generate sustainable employment opportunities.
Over the past four years, up to 100 workers have been employed annually for about nine months each year, and in the future, many more individuals will earn their livelihoods through this project.
It should be emphasized that to date, no financial assistance has been provided by the government or any institution; all achievements are solely the result of the unwavering trust and generous support of esteemed donors.
With deep respect and hope, we kindly request all donors inside and outside the country not to leave us alone in the fifth working year, and to continue their support so that this vital and historic project may be completed.
