This time, I painted the Panzer I in the two-tone camouflage used during the Invasion of France, which is not mentioned in the Tamiya instruction manual.
In the spring of 1940, the German army broke through the Ardennes Forest and began its invasion of France via a route that no one could have predicted.
The overwhelming speed of this unexpected advance by the German army was known as a blitzkrieg, and was the result of German soldiers advancing without sleep or rest.
This time I tried modeling while imagining a scene from such a blitzkrieg.

今回のI号戦車の塗装はタミヤの説明書には記載のないフランス侵攻時の2色迷彩としました。
1940春、ドイツ軍は誰も予想しえなかった侵攻経路、アルデンヌの森を突破しフランスへと侵攻を開始します。
この意表をつくドイツ軍の圧倒的な進撃スピードは電撃戦と称され、ドイツ兵の不眠不休の前進によるものだったのです。
今回はそんな電撃戦のワンシーンを想像しつつ、モデリングしてみました。
