Babb Run Bird and Wildlife Sanctuary is a wonderful little park hidden in the back of a residential community in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio, along the Cuyahoga River. In the winter, the main parking area in the park is closed, but parking is allowed at the end of Valleyview Drive as long as the road is not blocked.

The park features a nice trail down to the river and along the shore, but it is an out-and-back, meaning you have to return on the same trail you approach on. There is a great deal of wildlife in the park – a pair of deer were witnessed while leaving and the buck can be seen in a short.

There is a rough trail that continues up the Cuyahoga River valley and leads to a secret waterfall – Hidden Crystal Falls. It is worth the trek back there if you want a quiet, isolated, beautiful spot to relax and meditate, but be very careful as the trail approaches the river with a steep bank in parts. Along this path, you can also get a good view of the Northside Sewer Interceptor Tunnel project and the tunnel boring machine.

This video is a documentation of the trails on January 21st, 2025. It was a bitterly cold and partly sunny day. The trail was icy and slick in parts, but in fairly good condition in the highly-traveled areas.
