“I’m not political…” was a common response from many in the Iranian-American community when confronted with the realities of today’s Iran and the struggles and democratic aspirations of the Iranian people. But the murder of Mahsa Amini and the beginning of the Women, Life, Freedom movement changed that for many Iranian-Americans. Since, a new generation of grassroots activists and community leaders has come of age and begun making marked change in the community and in Washington. Who are they and what role can they play?
