A short to highlight the best way (as of this upload) to get .SKP files into Blender. No export is needed in Sketchup. This method reads directly from .SKP files.
I have tested this version with both Sketchup 8 Pro and 17 "Make" files on Windows without issues. Bear in mind that this file is considered Alpha level software. use at your discretion..
This version 0.23.2 Is marked as working with Blender 4.1 (I am using 4.2.2)
and SketchUp 2023
I have not seen an actual manual for this, so I will post a longer video shortly to look at some of its features, including hiding objects to prevent them from being imported and how to setup lighting in Sketchup to make it easier to light in Blender.
Find the addon file here. https://github.com/RedHaloStudio/Sket...
Many thanks to RedHaloStudio for making this available.
Note for Users of OSX you may need to build this from code, Check here for instructions:

UPDATE 7/4/25 for OSx users there is a new version of the importer for you, go here:
https://github.com/martijnberger/sket...
UPDATE 9/1/25 For windows I went ahead and forked the above OSx version to create a Windows version that works with the latest SU and Blender versions:

If you have any issues or comments leave them on GitHub where I can better address them, Thanks!
