Watch this magnificent 1928-built locomotive doing what it does best at Bodmin Railway. 5552 is a loco truly at home in Cornwall, having been allocated to Truro Shed for its last years in service before withdrawal in May 1961. Similar locos worked the line from Bodmin Road to Wadebridge during the golden age of steam.

The Story of 5552:
Built in 1928 at GWR Swindon Works, this beautiful Small Prairie Tank was bought by the Bodmin Railway Trust in 1986. After 17 years of dedicated restoration work, 5552 returned to service in September 2003. Following a major overhaul when its boiler ticket expired in 2013, this stunning locomotive returned to traffic in August 2023 wearing BR Lined Green livery.
