Описание: In April 1945, the Soviet Red Army launched a fierce assault on Königsberg, the capital of East Prussia and one of Nazi Germany’s last strongholds in the east. Surrounded by Soviet forces under Marshal Aleksandr Vasilevsky, the German garrison led by General Otto Lasch faced relentless artillery and air bombardment. The four-day siege turned the city into ruins as Soviet troops advanced street by street. On April 9, 1945, Königsberg finally surrendered. This victory marked the collapse of German resistance in East Prussia, paving the way for Soviet control and the city’s later renaming to Kaliningrad.
