📢 Big Update on 5-Day Banking Week in India!
On July 28, 2025, the Ministry of Finance confirmed in the Lok Sabha that the Indian Banks’ Association (IBA) has submitted a proposal to declare all Saturdays as banking holidays.

Currently, banks remain closed only on the second and fourth Saturdays of each month (rule in effect since August 2015). The new proposal aims to implement a full 5-day work week for banks.
