Haman ears filled with poppy
Ingredients
Ingredients for filling
3 cups poppy seeds (300g) freshly grounded! (Buying only at a spice shop)
1 cup sugar (200 grams)
1 cup milk (200 milliliters)
100 g butter at room temperature
Zest from whole lemon (finely grated shell)
80 g biscuit crumbs (ground thin)
Ingredients for the dough
600 grams of flour
500 grams of butter
200 grams of sugar
2 eggs
A little poppy for decoration
Instructions
Prepare the filling - place in a small pot 3 cups fresh ground poppy seeds, 1 cup sugar, 1 cup milk, 100 grams butter at room temperature, zest from whole lemon and place the pot over medium heat. Cook for 10 minutes while stirring, turn off flame, add 80 grams of biscuit crumbs, mix well and set aside to cool. (The mass should cool completely)
Prepare the dough - sift the flour and set aside. Cut 500 grams of cold butter into cubes.
· Place the butter cubes, 200 grams of sugar and 600 grams of flour into a food processor and process in short pulses until crumbs are obtained.
Add 2 eggs and process until a crumbly mass is formed.
Remove the crumbs from the food processor, collect them into a ball, wrap in plastic or plastic wrap and transfer the dough to the refrigerator for a two hour rest. (It is important not to mess too much with the dough)
Turn on a 180 ° C oven. Place a baking pan in baking paper and set aside.
After two hours of flour a work surface, sprinkle a little flour on the dough ball and put between two baking sheets for a uniform dough. Roll the dough into a 5 cm thick leaf, sprinkle a little poppy on the dough (as in the training video), roll out a little, and chop circles with a 10 cm ring. (You can use a 7 cm diameter bering or using a glass).
Fill each circle of dough with a teaspoon of poppy syrup, transfer the sides of the circle to the middle, and press the dough tightly into a baking pan.
Place the Haman's ears into the bottom of the oven and bake for 20 minutes until you see that the ends of the Haman ears are golden in the corners. Hamen ears are ready when they are golden in corners and white in the middle. (like in the picture)
After the ears have cooled, sprinkle with powdered sugar and store with a sealed container.
