1950’s Smith Corona Skyriter Typewriter

Materials List

Small Flat head screwdriver

New 14 Inch Carriage String (Aka: Draw or Carriage Strap) You can use 10 to 30 fishing line. Due to the opening on the Main Gear Spring. Note: The Higher the number on the fishing line the thicker the line gets.

Rubber Bands preferably thick but see which ones work best for you. I use them to wind up the main Spring Gear.

Gloves of either rubber or cloth for protection from possible cuts. Also keeps oil and superglue off your hands.

Super Glue (Optional): I use this to hold knot in the Carriage String in place as an extra precaution.

Patience is a keystroke to a happy you and your Typewriter.
