Dochula Pass is a mountain pass located between Thimphu and Punakha. The pass is located at an elevation of 3,100 metres on the East West Road from Thimphu to Punakha and further east in the Himalayas amidst the Eastern Himalayan snow-covered mountains.
There are 108 memorial chortens build in memory of the soldiers killed in the war between the insurgents of India, specifically from Assam who were holed up in jungles of Bhutan. They could ultimately flush out the militants from Assam and in memory of the soldiers killed 108 memorial chortens were build and completed in June 2004
