There are two types of paperwork required to export -- pre-shipment documents and post-shipment documents. The pre-shipment documents are compiled before shipment for IGST and customs clearance formalities and do not have to be sent to the buyers, whereas the post-shipment ones are exclusively for the buyers and used for processing the goods at the destination port.
While working with a bank guarantee, documentary credit, or a letter of credit, exporters need to take extreme care and thoroughly check its terms and conditions to avoid any trouble in the future.
