FORECAST | Dangerous flooding, possible severe weather, coastal hazards

Описание: We are weather aware today as we tracking multiple hazards moving into our area thanks to the remnants of Arthur moving across the Southeast. Rounds of showers and storms will move through today bringing life-threatening flooding, possible severe weather, and rough surf. The main concern is flooding. WPC has us under a level 4 out of 4 HIGH RISK for life-threatening and particularly dangerous flooding. Widespread 6-12” of rain is possible today and tomorrow with isolated spots seeing up to 15”. There is a FLOOD WATCH in place through tomorrow afternoon. There is also the chance for severe weather with the main threats being damaging winds and a few spin up tornadoes. Dangerous surf is also a concern with multiple alerts in place. There is a HIGH SURF ADVISORY, a SMALL CRAFT ADVISORY, a HIGH RISK for rip currents through Friday. Coastal flooding is also possible, especially during high tide. Rain chances gradually drop off heading into Father’s Day weekend with temperatures back in the upper 80’s and lower 90’s. Next week brings less rain and more heat with temps soaring into the mid-90’s and rain chances around 30%.
