A level crossing located just outside of the city centre in the 'Three Spires' City of Coventry in the West Midlands. On the principal route from the city centre into the suburb of Coundon, this level crossing is one of a handful located next to a low bridge, but this one's a bit different; once a diversionary route for vehicles low enough, the road under the bridge now forms part of the Coundon Cycleway, a self-contained, segregated cycle way running from the city centre into the suburbs, a few miles in total length. In its current form, the level crossing dates back to a full renewal and conversion to a CCTV Level Crossing in circa 2009, now believed to be controlled from the West Midlands Signalling Centre. A new alarm sounder can be found in one corner of the crossing, and it can be heard sounding with a rather fast tone.

Filmed on a Sunday Morning, these two videos feature only the second and third trains of the day, both hourly services between Leamington Spa and Nuneaton passing here within about 5 minutes of each other. Despite how built-up and urban the area is, it was remarkably quiet at the time! A video I took here back in December had pretty much everything go wrong at once: weather, lighting, and having a shot obscured by a large vehicle, and that was a re-take from one that was ruined by loud background music. That video will be un-listed, and the rest of the videos I filmed on that day will make up a future series.
