Kiel probes are an interesting technique for measuring total pressure in rotating detonation combustors (RDC/RDE). It is unclear, however, how the probe interacts with the unsteady flow in the RDC. This work investigates the probe interaction with a shockwave and underexpanded jet at the exit of a shock tube.
