World Human Rights Day 2024 Celebration in JMI (speaker Prof Sushila Ramaswamy)- part 1

Описание: Human Rights Day is celebrated annually across the world on 10 December every year. The date was chosen to honor the United Nations General Assembly's adoption and proclamation, on 10 December 1948, of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, the first global enunciation of human rights . Human Rights Day is observed  to emphasize the fundamental rights and freedoms inherent to all individuals. It serves as a reminder of the global responsibility to uphold human dignity, regardless of gender, nationality, ethnicity, or religion. The day is an opportunity to reflect on progress, address challenges, and advocate for justice and equality worldwide. Jamia Millia Islamia's department of political science organized a special lecture on this eve and the program was coordinated by Dr Azhar Ali (faculty at the department of political science, JMI)
The Expert Speaker was
Prof Dr. Sushila Ramaswamy, 
(Post-doctoral Fullbright Hays Grantee
from Bloomington, Indiana University,USA 
Visiting fellow, at the National University of Singapore, 1996).
She has been teaching at JMC, Delhi University since 1981. She holds a Ph.D. in Rawls and His Critics from the University of Delhi and has taught political theory and comparative politics. She has authored and co-authored 11 books, published several research articles, and regularly writes for The Statesman.
