Описание: Pulling up prickly pear cactus in Texas with a Howse rock rake and LS Tractor. Sorry for the wind noise, but it couldn't be helped. Don't let the old timers tell you this doesn't work or that there is no point in this...they have given up. I've pulled up hundreds of cactus beds like this, and they die -- especially in drought conditions like we are having...so get 'em while they are down. Cactus consumes a lot of water, takes over and spreads...crowding out grasses that could feed livestock and wildlife. This cactus bed is roughly 5x4 feet which frees up 15-20 square feet of ground that can now be planted, and be used as beneficial pasture. When trying this method, drop the rake down fully, and slowly pull forward to give the rake time to sink. Then pick up the stragglers, and pull up any exposed roots. Leaving any cactus paddle behind will form a new plant, so make sure to get up all the broken pieces. This method beats doing nothing, while best utilizing valuable rainfall and makes room for the regrowth of useful grasses and forbs. Drop me a line if I can answer any questions. Thanks.
