Описание: Children’s Music Therapist Clarissa Karlsson, MA, MT-BC, in the Center for Cancer and Blood Disorders serves inpatients and outpatients by providing opportunities for play and movement, using live music for distraction during anxiety-provoking or painful procedures, and helping older children, teens, and young adults express their feelings through talking about their favorite music, writing songs, or creating digital music projects. Though music therapy is only available in the Center for Cancer and Blood Disorders, Children’s National provides a number of therapeutic music services hospital-wide, including harp therapy, “Musicians on Call,” the Seacrest Studios, and more.
