Tips on Fly Fishing the San Juan with MidgeMan

Описание: Dad and I spent an amazing 10 days in the Land of Enchantment fly fishing the San Juan for their jeweled bows, cut-bows and buttery browns. I have to say, it fished better than our previous 4 trips, in fact it was pretty downright amazing with both quantity and quality, with some fantastic dry-fly action throughout the days. Hopefully you will find this video not only enjoyable but also informative and instructional as well, we like to provide info on what it takes to be successful on this beautiful river that can hopefully be carried over to your local waters as well. Flies most productive were:
#22-26 midges in various colors (cream and brown especially)
#24-26 emergers (both midge and baetis patterns, some with flash wing, some with foam backs)
#24 annelids, red, brown and olive
Bunny Leeches, olive
#22-24 Parachute Adams, standard color (I colored mine olive on the stream as needed)
#15-17 ants (my tie)
G-Loomis NRX+ 10ft 4 wt, 10ft tapered leader to 5/5.5/6/6.5 tippet, total length 15' plus (flouro for sub-surface and nylon for dry-fly) Upwards of 18' for dry-fly.
Yarn indicator, for me is a must. Adjust, adjust, adjust!
Enough shot to get to the fish, whatever it takes! Always adjust for depth and current and also what water column the fish are hanging
