We are often asked this question and have over the years run with almost every dog breed. Sometimes the smallest dogs can be absolute real pocket rockets, and the larger dogs like a slower pace.

Whilst certain dog breeds like Pointers and working dogs are especially suited to Canicross, every dog can enjoy the sport, just at their own pace. Particularly brachycephalic breeds need careful attention and always be mindful of the weather and run in cooler temperatures. We always recommend starting Canicross with your dog at a slow pace and following a structured programme. Even if you are an experienced runner, it's essential to proceed gradually with your dog, as they need time to get used to the equipment and running alongside you.
