Harry Potter, if you don’t know, is a book series about well Harry Potter, an abused child who finds out he is a wizard. That is a very simple way of putting it but you most likely know what it is about. Harry Potter, prior to the release of its movies, was already very popular but its popularity reached unprecedented levels with the release of the movies. The series despite its popularity is very flawed. So today I wanted to discuss race in Harry Potter.

I will specifically be focusing on the books including the cursed child however these issues are most likely present in the movies as well. Like a lot of people I loved these books growing up but I no longer support JK Rowling.
These issues have always been present in the books but have gained traction in recent times due to JK Rowling’s problematic tweets and opinions. I will not be getting into those issues because I want to focus on the problems within these books. There are already many videos on the topic; I will link a few in the description box below.

Many of these issues do not directly affect me. So if I missed some key points or misinterpreted something, please correct me in the comments.
