GRP, RPF recover Rs 16 41 lakh at New Bongaigaon Railway Station; one detained

Описание: During a routine security check at the New Bongaigaon railway station in Assam, joint teams from the Government Railway Police (GRP) and the Railway Protection Force (RPF) intercepted a passenger carrying a large sum of unaccounted cash.

Officials seized Rs 16,41,000 from the possession of Dinesh Kumar Hirawat as he was entering the station premises. Preliminary investigation reveals that the individual is a resident of Kolkata.

Railway security agencies have initiated a comprehensive inquiry to ascertain the source and intended destination of the recovered funds.
