A rare opportunity to explore the life and work of a living legend of modern design, this video interview offers a snapshot into the humor, dedication and extraordinary career of Jens Risom. Born and raised in Denmark, the son of an architect, Risom arrived in the U.S. in 1939 and, after fighting in the war, returned to New York to set up his design studio. A meeting with Hans Knoll led to the creation of the Risom Chair, which “was a new way of designing furniture,” in Risom’s words.
