Dr. Ryuji Wakikawa , SoftBank Corp's VP and Head of Research Institute of Advanced Technology and one of the drivers behind the AI-RAN Alliance sits down for a chat with @NextGenInfra (Roy Chua of @avidthink ) to discuss innovation in the mobile radio access network (RAN).
The RAN is one of the areas where cutting-edge AI can bring significant benefits — from optimization to network management and beyond. Last year, at MWC Barcelona 2024, the AI-RAN Alliance was launched by founding members including Arm, DeepSig, Ericsson, Microsoft, Nokia, Northeastern University, NVIDIA, Samsung Electronics, SoftBank, The University of Tokyo, and T-Mobile USA.
