In this video, His Holiness Trijang Rinpoche accepts a long life puja, and the request of his students to extend his life and remain longer with them.
The previous His Holiness Kyabje Trijang Dorje Chang was, alongside Kyabje Ling Rinpoche, one of the two tutors of His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama. All of the Dalai Lama's knowledge and the practices he disseminates and promotes today can be traced back to either Ling Rinpoche and Trijang Rinpoche.
Not only was Trijang Rinpoche an accomplished scholar and meditation master, but he was also an astute politician and widely credited for the present Dalai Lama's skill in diplomacy and statesmanship. Trijang Rinpoche also worked tirelessly to propagate the Dharma, teaching countless monks, lamas and geshes who then went all over the world to turn the wheel of Dharma in their respective locations.
Trijang Rinpoche was also deeply devoted to the practice of Dorje Shugden, and composed the seminal text "Music Delighting the Ocean of Protectors" which explains the background, history and benefits of Dorje Shugden's practice.
