Artist Gilbert Angeles uses trash from his community — shredded plastic, expired paint, and plywood — in paintings.

He was inspired to do so after learning that the Philippines is one of the ocean's top plastic polluters.

Angeles also began Green Artz, a group that encourages artists to use recycled materials in their art.
