PMMA- Full name Poly Methyl Meth Acrylate.
Also known as Plexiglass or Lucite.
PMMA comes in polyacrylates group.
Preparation Of PMMA- It is prepared by addition Polymerisation of methyl meth Acrylate monomer in the presence of acetyle peroxide or hydrogen peroxide as catalyst.
Uses - 1) For making lenses, optical fibres.
2) In artificial eyes.
3) In T.V screens.
4) In wash basins.
5) Dome shree covers of solar collectors (I.e., solar
heaters)
