8 PEAT AGAINST ALL ODDS ISUFST’S UNWAVERING DOMINANCE

Описание: The Iloilo State University of Fisheries Science and Technology (ISUFST) Men's Baseball Team has once again etched its name in the annals of collegiate baseball game history last RSCUAA 2023 held at Carlos Hilado Memorial State University (CHMSU). Despite facing a myriad of challenges, such as limited equipment, subpar practice venues, financial constraints, and the demanding academic rigors of their courses, the team has clinched an impressive eight consecutive Regional State Colleges and Universities Athletic Association (RSCUAA) championships.
Under the supervision and guidance of their former Head Coach Ricky Ramos, former Assistant Coach Dave Soniso, and their dedicated trainer Romeo Ballaret, the team has consistently defied expectations. Led by their resilient and dedicated team captain, John Patrick Iquiña, the players had exhibited unwavering dedication and a relentless pursuit of excellence in the last RSCUAA 2023.
"Kabudlay gid mag practice, kapin pa kulang kag mga guba ang iban namon nga equipments, pati ang schedule namon nga wala ga santo permi" Iquiña shared. "Pero bisan amo lg na mga gamit namon, isa na sila ka patimaan nga bisan kulang kag mga guba, nangin pundasyon man sila para mahasa amon mga abilidad sa tunga sang field, wala ini nangin hadlang para madulaan kami sang paglaum kag dugang nga baskog sa amon hampang."
The team's dominance extended beyond the national level as they recently secured a silver medal at the National SCUAA in Tarlac, showcasing their exceptional skills against other competing schools. This achievement further solidified their reputation as a force to be reckoned with in Philippine collegiate baseball.
As the defending champions and hosts of the upcoming RSCUAA 2024, the ISUFST Baseball Team is now faced with a unique set of challenges. The pressure of playing in front of their home crowd is huge, and the expectation is high.
Although they are proud of their past successes and the legacy that they're defending, they are also keenly aware to the challenges that lie ahead. Being that some of the important players have already graduated while others dropped out of school for some reasons, there has been another challenge of the team. Thus, new faces have emerged, eager to prove their worth and contribute to the team’s legacy.
As the team gears up for the upcoming RSCUAA on December 15-20, their eyes are firmly set on a historic nine-peat. The players are eager to continue their winning streak and cement their legacy as one of the most successful collegiate baseball programs not only in Western Visayas but in the whole State Colleges and Universities in the Philippines.
"Ipadayon pa ah, kapin pa last year ko na lang ja kag iban ko nga mga upod," said Iquiña. "Maka nine-peat kami this coming RSCUAA, isa guid ka testamento kag history sa amon eskwelahan ja. Amo na gabaka-baka man kami practice para madefend ang title nga gin himakas sang amon mga seniors."
The ISUFST Men's Baseball Team's journey is a true inspiration. Their unyielding dedication paired with their great skill is the reason they became shinning lights of hope among aspiring athletes in their colleges to all the neighboring schools around them. Their story also reminds everyone that the hardest to tackle challenges can indeed be overcome through determination and hard work as they strive towards achieving greatness.
