Billie’s Thunder
I wrote this within minutes of hearing Billy Strings for the first time! Billy Strings had put music to some Robert Hunter lyrics called “Thunder”.
I’m a big Dead/Hunter fan so that’s how I encountered Billy Strings, and he became the inspiration for this instrumental.
On this version, the players are Jim Caldwell on guitar, Yvonne Caldwell on bass guitar, and Perry Phillips on drums and all 'round recording expertise.
When Yvonne and I perform live, the group is known as “Sutherland Bay” and this tune is a regular in the set list.
